The academic year has gained momentum, and this is the best signal for Biedronka to start searching for young talents among students and pupils throughout Poland. Biedronka Campus is a series of initiatives organised by Biedronka, the aim of which is to support the development of young people, as part of cooperation with universities and schools, enabling internships and apprenticeship programmes, and ultimately giving the chance to gain professional experience with the largest employer in Poland.
Hundreds of students participating in lectures conducted by experts from the Biedronka network, almost 100 students from technical schools who attend sponsored classes, thousands of conversations with young people during job fairs - this is how the Biedronka Campus can be summed up in numbers. For many years, this initiative has been helping young talents develop throughout Poland.
Cooperation with universities and schools
Biedronka currently cooperates with 10 universities throughout Poland, including the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poznań University of Economics, Poznań University of Technology, and the University of Economics in Katowice. The company supports majors related primarily to product quality control, logistics and supply chain, IT, and finance, which are key areas for the development of the largest retail chain in the country. Biedronka experts conduct lectures for students, share knowledge during specialist webinars, organize study visits or participation in research, and select the best master's theses in competitions for master's students. By the end of 2024, the company plans to establish 5 more partnerships with key universities in the country.
Biedronka also supports the development of talents among secondary school students, taking patronage over two classes with a logistics profile and one with an IT profile in technical schools: in Łódź, Olsztynek and Swarzędz. Students take part in study visits, classes and webinars, which allow them to get to know the practical side of work, including in a distribution centre. In October, students of the School Complex in Olsztynek visited the distribution centre in Stawiguda and learned about the specifics of managing a Biedronka outlet, learning about the functioning of the chain from the logistics perspective. In the coming months, further meetings, lectures at universities and schools, and participation in job fairs organised at universities, including at the University of Łódź on 26.10 this year, are planned.

Talent programs for everyone
Biedronka's support for students does not end with the end of academic education. For over 25 years, final-year students and graduates up to 2 years after graduation have been able to take part in the prestigious Management Trainee program. During the 2-year internship, its participants get to know the retail industry from the inside, gain unique experience and knowledge. After completing the program, they receive the position of junior manager and continue their career at Biedronka. So far, during the entire program, over 200 people have joined the team, in many cases its graduates currently hold high positions in the entire Jeronimo Martins Group, also outside Poland.

Biedronka actively supports the development of young people's talents. We implement initiatives aimed at students and pupils throughout Poland and we want to provide an inspiring and useful program. For young people who are in the process of education, the opportunity to gain experience and test in practice in which direction they want to develop professionally is important. Our company not only gives you the chance to gain unique, practical knowledge, but often also offers a specific employment offer in many cases, enabling you to develop a professional career, including internationally, with the largest employer in Poland. We appreciate cooperation with universities, secondary schools, student organizations and associations, because we have a common goal: to prepare young people as best as possible to implement their career plans.

You can also gain experience during the holidays
With Biedronka, you don't have to wait until the beginning of the school year to acquire new skills. The company also offers a summer internship program - Owocne Wakacje. Young talents join Biedronka for 3 months, implement specific projects under the supervision of a mentor and gain their first professional experience. In 2023 alone, 80 of the most talented people from all over the country took part in Biedronka's internships.
Something for financiers and IT experts
In July 2023, Biedronka launched two new internship programs for students: the Finance Academy and the IT School. They enable development in a given field through internal training, involvement in projects conducted in the organization and the care of a dedicated mentor. 20 people from all over Poland took part in both programs.
