PLN 2,500 gross Special Award for Biedronka employees

By the end of March, over 50,000 of our employees will receive the Soares dos Santos Special Award for 2020, worth PLN 2,500 gross. This is an honor for people thanks to whom millions of Poles could count on the opportunity to do their shopping, despite the difficult and demanding months of the pandemic.

This year's Special Award for employees of our stores and distribution centers will be PLN 200 higher than last year's. We will pay the funds to employees' accounts in March to help them prepare for Easter.

The award will be given to people who are employed under an employment contract. They must have started their employment no later than 01.03.2020 and been employed on 01.03.2021. Additionally, all employee absences in 2020 cannot exceed 180 days. Part-time employees who meet the conditions for the award will receive an amount proportional to their full-time employment.

The past year was an exceptional year for everyone. Our network's employees demonstrated exceptional responsibility and understanding of their important social role in these difficult times.  

It was a time dominated by the pandemic, in which, despite many unprecedented challenges, we managed not only to jointly ensure the continuity of the company's operations, but also to strengthen the position of the market leader. The key to success was safety and proximity - to employees, customers and suppliers - and a quick and effective response to the rapidly changing realities of the pandemic.

This is another benefit for our employees recently. Last year, we gave employees additional bonuses twice for two weeks of work in March during the pandemic. Additionally, during this special time, we paid employees a full discretionary bonus related to the store's results, regardless of the degree of achievement of sales goals. Before Christmas last year, Biedronka employees also received discounts on purchases worth up to PLN 1,000.
