New Year's pay rises for Biedronka employees

Salaries of employees employed in stores and distribution centers of the Biedronka network will be higher by PLN 200 gross per month from January 2021. January pay rises will be given to as many as 58,000 employees of the largest private employer in Poland.

In the new year, all employees of Biedronka stores, including Managers, will receive pay rises. The pay rises also apply to those employed in Distribution Centers in positions such as: warehouseman, picking warehouseman and administrative and warehouse inspector.

It is clear to us that the success of Biedronka is always the result of the hard work of thousands of employees. In times of challenges and uncertainty, this effort and its value have become even more visible. Through further pay rises, we want to appreciate their daily efforts. We are glad that we can share this good news with employees before the end of an exceptionally difficult 2020. The pay rises are another initiative showing that we appreciate employees. Earlier, they received discounts on purchases, prepaid card top-ups up to PLN 570 and additional rewards during the year.

Pay rises for store employees will amount to PLN 200 gross per month. From January 2021, beginners employed full-time as a salesperson-cashier will be able to earn - depending on the location - from PLN 3,250 to PLN 3,600 gross, including the attendance bonus. The lowest salary in this position is higher than the minimum wage by over PLN 16%. Employees of Biedronka stores can also count on seniority increases after the first and third year of work. In the case of salesperson-cashiers with three years of experience in Biedronka, the amount of monthly earnings will be from PLN 3,400 to PLN 3,850 gross. Employees of the Biedronka network can also receive a monthly discretionary bonus, taking into account the store's results and quality of service, the value of which will not change.

The pay rises in all 16 distribution centres will also amount to PLN 200 gross, and will cover employees employed in the following positions: warehouseman, picking warehouseman and administrative and warehouse inspector. The salaries of people employed in these positions, depending on seniority and location, will amount to PLN 3,600 to PLN 4,750 gross, taking into account the bonus for attendance in a given month.  

The year 2020 is an extremely exceptional and difficult period. That is why Biedronka appreciated its employees several times during this time. At the beginning of the pandemic, we took care of the issue of safety. We introduced, among others, plexiglass shields, disinfecting gels and soaps, disposable masks and gloves in our stores. Then it was time for financial benefits. We awarded employees in stores and distribution centers additional prizes twice in March - their total value is PLN 550 gross. This month, approx. 60 thousand employees of the network in non-managerial positions received discounts on purchases in Biedronka branches of up to PLN 1 thousand. In addition, there were pre-Christmas packages - over 73 thousand gift sets and prepaid card top-ups are waiting for employees.

At this time, the simple word "thank you" is also very important. In a new ad dedicated to the employees of the Biedronka network, we emphasize gratitude for the efforts of thousands of women and men employed in our network. It is you who make impossible things possible.
