On September 10, the Employer Branding Excellence Award 2020 Gala took place. Biedronka took first place for two internal campaigns: Razem Zadbajmy o Zdrowie and Świeżoznawcy. We also received a distinction in the Employer Branding Strategy category.

The EBEA 2020 competition has been organized by the HRM Institute for 9 years – the first awards were granted in 2012. Awarded employers present their projects during the competition Gala. The idea of the competition is to reward companies that build their brand in a creative way, using the latest trends and technologies.
Why are participation and the awards and distinctions received so important to us? Biedronka is thousands of teams throughout Poland that take care of our customers every day. As an employer, we want to provide our employees with the care they need. Every year, as part of the program, employees have the opportunity to take advantage of a package of preventive examinations, teleconsultations and other additional activities. Free preventive examinations can be used by employees of stores and warehouses employed under an employment contract. Thanks to the Razem Zadbajmy o Zdrowie campaign, more employees than the previous year reported for examinations. One of them saved his life thanks to his participation in the campaign!

In turn, Fresh Experts is a campaign that has had a positive impact on employee engagement and their concern for the fresh product category. At Biedronka, we have been building a culture of freshness for years, which is why our Fresh Experts are people who know its value. They know how to take care of it, even if it requires a lot of commitment. They demonstrate a number of competencies: the ability to work under time pressure, attentiveness, attention to detail, punctuality and speed of response.
The “Become a Freshman” training is dedicated to each newly hired employee in the store who is learning to be a Sales Cashier. In 2019 alone, we trained 7,425 Sales Cashiers during 118,800 training hours. During the training, the employee becomes familiar with the basic principles of work in the area of fresh products – in particular fruit and vegetables, bread, and fresh meat and fish. Thanks to this, employees in stores have strengthened their sense that they are experts who know the assortment and can best advise the customer when shopping.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the implementation of the projects and to the other winners and honorable mentions.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the Agencies with which we have collaborated on the projects: Employer Branding Institute, Job'n'joy and Aboutad.
