Valeriia, Senior Salesperson-Cashier at one of the Biedronka supermarkets in Poznań, shared her professional experience in an interview for pracuj.pl.

We were asked by pracuj.pl to nominate a person who would like to be interviewed about the work of a cashier. We know how important this role is socially, yet still underestimated, which is why we willingly agreed to participate in the project.

Valeriia found out about the job opportunity at Biedronka by accident. In 2017, she joined the team in Poznań, tested her skills as a Senior Salesperson-Cashier, and has now started training to become a Deputy Store Manager. You can read more about her work history at Biedronka here.

What does the job of a Senior Sales Cashier involve?

For some time now, Biedronka has introduced a development opportunity for people who would like to be promoted, but are not sure whether they would be able to handle all the duties of a Deputy Store Manager. The new position allows them to test themselves in a new role, learn the rules and procedures, co-leading a shift with the Store Manager or leading a shift on their own. We would like to thank the pracuj.pl team for inviting us to participate in such an interesting project, thanks to which our employees can talk about working in the store in their own words – not only about what they like, but also about what is sometimes difficult for them.
